This nigun is attributed to the R’ Meir Shlomo Yanovsky, the Rebbe’s maternal grandfather, who was the rabbi of Nikolayiv. The beginning expresses bitter longing and the end expresses joyful hope. (#203 in Sefer Nigunim)
This Chassidic cantorial song was composed by Reb Aharon Charitonov, of Nikolayev Russia. The tune is set to the words of Tal Yasis, a prayer for dew recited during Pesach.
This tune is attributed to R’ Sholom Charitonov (others say R’ Aharon Charitonov), and it’s often sung to the words Ki Hinei Kachomer from the Yom Kippur liturgy (# 66).

A beautiful tune often sung at chassidic gatherings, as well as around the Shabbat and holiday table. A profoundly stirring tune first sung by the first generation of Chabad chassidim some 200 years ago.
