Beautiful! I have always wondered, how do I find what my purpose is? I am lost because for so many years, I haven't been able to figure it out. I am observant, doing mitzvot, etc, but I feel it's not enough. Any thoughts anyone? Reply

I was also indirectly influenced by the Rebbe. Although I don't practice חסידות myself, I have an undeniable connection to Lubavitch/ChaBa"D which I can't escape: I am eighth generation from the founder of the movement so feel a strong attraction to the movement. Reply

Just what I needed to hear. I feel very connected to the Rebbe, even though I haven't seen Him with my own eyes. I am a shlucha in NJ and this is just so inspiring. I hope Moshiach will come soon and we will see the Rebbe in a revealed way with our own eyes. Reply

Malka, each person's mission is to do their best to keep G-d's commandments, using his or her unique life situation as a springboard to go forward and shine their light. A person could be giving up a promising career to be a caregiver for a loved one who is ill, and along the way can find out that they are bringing joy to the whole hospital ward by using their talents or simply smile and give a listening ear. Our mission is to do what we are doing as well as we can, striving to do even better to make the world a better place, but realizing our limitations while trusting in G-d that we have been given the mission and also the resources to do it. The Torah sages (Pirkei Avot 1:6) recommend having an ongoing connection with a 'Rabbi, and acquire a friend'. Friend here meaning someone whose values you respect and can give you honest but supportive feedback because they care about you. This is an essential part of going about our missions.
