SECTION 524 Certain Prohibitions that Apply on a Festival (1)

סימן תקכד כַּמָּה דְבָרִים הָאֲסוּרִים בְּיוֹם טוֹב וּבוֹ סְעִיף אֶחָד:

1 Just as [all the following acts] are forbidden on Shabbos, so too, [all of these acts] are forbidden on a festival. One may not: climb a tree,1 ride an animal,2 swim on the surface of water,3 slap his hands [on his thighs], clap his hands, dance,4 adjudicate a legal dispute,5 consecrate a woman, perform the rites of marriage, yibbum, divorce, or chalitzah,6consecrate any entity to G‑d,7 separate challah,8 terumah, or the tithes,9 redeem a firstborn,10 acquire any entity even through manifesting one’s ownership over it or through a kinyan sudar.11One may not give a present unless it is being given for the sake of the Shabbos [or on a festival, for the sake of the festival].12Consult sections 339 and 306.
