Matot-Massei: Facing Challenges & Journeys
Numbers 30:2–36:13
The ninth section of the Book of Numbers begins as Moses addresses the heads of the tribes (Matot, in Hebrew), teaching them the laws of vows and oaths. It then resumes the historical narrative, recounting the events during the last year of the Jewish people’s trek in the desert as they prepare to cross the Jordan River into the Land of Israel.
The tenth and last section of the Book of Numbers begins by reviewing the journeys (Mas’ei, in Hebrew) of the Jewish people from Egypt until the threshold of the Land of Israel. It continues with G‑d’s instructions regarding the Jews’ imminent entry and conquest of the land.

Daily Quote
When I was five years old I was orphaned from both my father and mother. Before his passing, my holy father told me two things: 1) Fear nothing but G-d alone. 2) Love every single Jew, without exception, with all your heart and all your soul.
