Matot: Facing Challenges
Numbers 30:2–32:42
The ninth section of the Book of Numbers begins as Moses addresses the heads of the tribes (Matot, in Hebrew), teaching them the laws of vows and oaths. It then resumes the historical narrative, recounting the events during the last year of the Jewish people’s trek in the desert as they prepare to cross the Jordan River into the Land of Israel.

Daily Quote
And the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to make the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant . . .
It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days G‑d made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.
It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days G‑d made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.
