Transliteration: Vayehi Bimei Achashverosh Hu Achashverosh Hamolech MeHodu v’Ad Kush Sheva v’Esrim Umeah Medinah
Translation: And it came to pass in the days of Achashveirsoh - the same Achashveirsoh who ruled from Hodu to Kush, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces.
I was at Wellesley-Weston (MA) Chabad Erev Shabbat Va-yikra, and we sang Lecha Dodi to this melody. I had never heard it, and learned about its connection to the Megillah. A good easy niggun to grasp. I'm happy to find it here. Thanks for posting.
To the person who asked if it would work as a (3-part) round -- that's a good question. Parts 1 & 3 are very close melodically, so I'm not sure how the harmonies would work. It's worth a try. :)
And a very happy Purim to all!
Go Reb Zisha!!
