King Jotham of Judea: Son of King Uzziah. Reigned from 594-578 BCE. During the first few years of his reign, he concentrated his efforts on strengthening the political and military position of his land, which had suffered so much during the period when the throne of Judea stood vacant, when his father Uzziah was in quarantine. Much of his attention was directed towards the renovation and beautification of the Holy Temple. He was a pious and righteous monarch who observed and studied the laws of the Torah.
