rav epstein on noach -1/2 way thru a great talk new piece of learning for me-wanted to reiterate without sounding too simplistic or idealistic because when life is difficult there are no easy answers. in facat he makes a comment that in mourning, our responses are given a frame-the first week, the 30 days the frist 11 months the first year. a graduated mourning process that aims to support us in the natural, difficult and painful grieving process.

so... what is the flood - the mayim rabah? - the great water that overwhelms us can be equated to material difficulties, life challenges

how do we deal with it?-we dont run away from it, we get into the ark (ark=teva=hebrew word for "word") so we get into the "word" when floods come-the words of torah. challenges come, dont be overwhelmed & sink or hide. get into words of torah-let the challenge together with torah move you forward & learn from the difficulty. flood is so powerful u get moved along anyway-cant control it so make the difficulty count for good.
