I have read and re-read the Toyruh and do see the "Jews" mentioned anywhere! B'nai Yisrael, Jacob, yes. They were not Jews! It is like someone stubbornly calling Americans "Yankees". And even moreso. To retro-name the settlers at Jamestown as Yankees is an equivalent anachronistic hierarchical error.
No "Jews" until Babylon. In Babylon the tribes of Judah (and those associated with him [as in Ez. 37:14-->], Benjamin, Simeon, many of Levites were melded into the Jewish People. As Jews, the religion was synagogue based, and the theology was that of the First temple made spiritualized. How could we call the people of the first temple Jews? 12 (or 13) Tribes divided into 2 Kingdoms. The Northern (Joseph and his associated tribes) was exiled by Assyria. For two hundred years the Southern Kingdom kept their sovereignty.
Calling Joseph, or Joshua "Jews" is like calling Robert E. Lee a great Yankee! Reply

three cities Very interesting audio, thank you. I do have a question. It was mentioned that the expansion of the territory of Israel and the subsequent command to add three addtional cities of refuge would occur when the Moshiach comes. I am wondering why there will be a need for these cities of refuge at all when the Moshiach comes. Will there still be (accidental) death? I was under the impression that there would be no more death suffering at that time. Thank you! Reply
