About the Course

Kosher? Where does one begin? The answer is right here. In this course, you will learn what kosher is, how to keep a kosher home, how to shop for kosher, how to correct non-kosher mistakes, and how to live a kosher lifestyle. We’ll discover how keeping kosher can infuse spirituality and purpose into your life, and how it has the power to elevate everything and everyone you come into contact with. We hope you have an appetite to learn because our first course is ready.

Milk, meat, never the twain shall meet, right? Yes, but there’s more, a whole lot more. In this class, we will set the table by learning which foods are kosher and which are not: From meat to milk, to fruits, vegetables, and everything in between. We’ll also be teaching you how to set your kosher kitchen up for success - and about the incredible power that kosher practices can unlock in your soul.

In today’s interconnected world, where any fare is always in season, and food ships from factories and plants all over the world - where ingredient lists can be the length of a short novel, how do you know what’s kosher? In this class, we will cover how things become kosher, how they stay kosher, and how you can tell what products are kosher anytime, anywhere.

To error is human; to correct is kosher. In this class, we will get into the nitty gritty of hot and cold, milk and meat, and what you can do whenever they mistakenly meet. Bring your steak knife because we will be breaking down some fascinating halachic laws into bite-sized pieces that will blow your mind, so you won’t need to take a blow torch to your entire kitchen.

Kosher, shmosher, what’s the big deal, and why all this fuss about fins, scales, split hooves, and separate dinner plates? In our last class, you will learn exactly why we are what we eat on a physical level but more deeply, on a spiritual level. This one is about so much more than just food, it's an outlook and pathway to connecting with G-d and living a healthy spiritual life.

  • This was an amazing course and well done. I was hesitate at first about the ability to "connect" with the subject and and amazed how my life focus has changed after just 4 weeks. Thank you Rabbi Stein and Chabad.org Courses. Shabbat Shalom.
