Afikomen Question: Rabbi Nissan Dubov says in the video on your site that the word Afikomen is a Greek word meaning Dessert, but elsewhere you say the word is Aramaic from Fiko Man. There seems to be a difference of opinion here, or are both right? Is it both greek and Aramaic? Reply
Re: Afikomen You could see it as a difference of opinion--this is Judaism, after all. Or you could say that they chose this Greek word and the word stuck, because it had this double-entendre in Aramaic. That way, both opinions are right (which is also very Jewish).
