So are the souls and bodies of "all the nations of the world" (gentiles) derived from total evil? No good in them whatsoever? Or is it "all evil people of the nations of the world?" because the text seems to say the former but the Rabbi clearly says the latter...
The text refers to the common denominator of all human beings, a body and animal soul with the potential to do either good or bad. A person that chooses good demonstrates that he has overcome this potential, while someone that turns to a life of evil clearly has allowed his natural instincts to take over. This would apply to anyone.
