What does Rabbi mean by “it takes seven years”? Is there a significance to seven years in learning? Should one not give up learning a subject until one has given it seven years of study?
I don't think he had any deep meaning. He was just noting that the study of physics is a long process, not something that can be done overnight, as he was implying. It can sometimes take seven years of schooling to master physics.
