Answer to anonymous of Jan 1, 2013 If you listen carefully, I think Rabbi Gordon spoke about pleasure from knowing G-dly wisdom and not actually G-d Himself. Reply
pleasure you say that the highest form of pleasure is from knowing G-D but we learned that anybody that clams to know or understand G-D is a kifer because its not passable to understand G-D Reply

Battle for the City Thank you again for your wonderful classes. My mornings are greatly brightened as I learn my daily Tanya and Chumash with you. G-d willing, I will have the strength to add your class on Rambam also. For awhile, I have been struggling to understand the battle for "the city" of the two souls. At the end of the day, we do something, either that advocated by the nefesh elokis or that advocated by the nefesh behamas. How is that decision made? My working theory of the moment is that the nefesh hasechlis eventually makes the decision about what the body will actually do. Both of the warring kings try to convince the nefesh hasechlis to go one way or the other. Is this on track or is there a different process for actually making the decision.
