I personally find it hard to believe that a non-Jew can't do something completely for the sake of G-d. I have plenty of Christian friends that are religious who I think would totally do a kind thing even if they didn't feel like it. And maybe they won't even feel good about it after.

For example, let's say they see a homeless person on the street and he smells absolutely horrible. He has a cup out and he's begging mamesh for just a quarter or two. Now my Christian friend is walking by. She smells this man from 20 feet away and he's rancid. She mamesh feels sick just coming close. But she realizes that G-d would want her to give the tzedakah. So she does it. Nobody sees her do it, and she had to overcome the smell just to give the money. Also, let's say she doesn't feel good about it after. She doesn't get any happy feeling in her heart. Are you telling me that's not a possible scenario? I'm not convinced at all! Please explain further to me. Reply

Is giving tzedaka because it is the right thing to do the same as giving it because it is G-d's will? Isn't it a higher level of kindness than giving it just because it is the right thing to do or is it the same thing. Reply
