It is wonderful to have the opportunity to hear the Torah read thank you but why not have it read with accent of Hebrew as it is spoken by the majority of Hebrew speakers in the world and not the Ashkenazi accent which is very hard on the ears to me and many perhaps more would listen if this were done Today most American Jews learn and speak Hebrew as it is spoken in Israel and do not speak it as it is heard on your site . With all due respect to our ancestors in Eastern Europe that world is gone and we also have ancestors from the Sephardic World and together with modern Israelis
They make the majority of Hebrew speakers is it not time to reach out to all Beit Yisrael with Hebrew as spoken by most Jews today?
Thank you for sharing. Many Ashkenazi Jews use this pronunciation and find value in continuing the tradition of their ancestors.
That said our Torah Trainer currently features a Hebrew accent, you can find it at chabad.org/Torahtrainer
Rabbi Michoel Slavin is the Baal Korei at 770 in Crown Heights. This is the Chabad headquarters worldwide and it’s also where the Lubavitcher Rebbe davened. As such, the Baal Korei would have to read Torah similar to how the Rebbe would and how Lubavitcher Chasidim have since the beginning of the movement. Therefore for him to leyn using any other nusach would be unacceptable.
