Yet, because the Alter Rebbe brings it down in Sefer Shel Benonim, it applies to a Benoni as well."

re: tanya epistle 11 part 2 so with rabbi greenglasse's explanation i am a bit puzzled. i thought tanya was written for the benoni. why is this mentioned. in other words what do we, the simple folk, learn from the 3 different inyonim of suffering? what are we to aspire to? thank you . i really enjoy the clarity! Tzaddikim or Beinonim You said that this letter is addressing a tzaddik. But I thought that Sefer haTanya is known as Sefer shel Beinonim. Is the term 'Sefer shel Benonim' referring only to the first sections of Tanya? Is this letter relevant to all Jews? Btw, I am really enjoying the Tanya and Chumash shiurim. The essence of Torah
When the Alter Rebbe says that every human being needs three blessings (namely to bring children into this world, holistic health and the privilege of making an honest living) he speaks from the perspective of divine humility.
In other words, these blessings are blessings because they reveal the Giver of the gift and by definition such a gift will always be reciprocated (see Genesis 18: 1-13).
