My Little Pushke Story I take the money from my charity box and put it in the cup holder of my car. Yesterday, while loading my groceries, a nice-looking young man approached (after having asked the lady in the next car) and asked apologetically if he could "have a dollar for transportation." He looked better than the usual spare-changer and I was thinking, "Sign of the times." I got the change, gave it to him and he thanked me; I smiled and said, "You're welcome." That night on local news, the report was the metro transit debit card system had crashed. Cash and credit cards were working, but not debit cards. Of course I'll never know if that was this man's issue. But I feel so much better today. I'm a retiree on a fixed income myself. I thank you, Rabbi Gordon, for teaching me to make sure that I partner with Hashem in finding a way to give. A way to plant the seed.
