Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge

Wisdom (Chochma) is the first acquired of the three parts of the intellect. It is seated in decision making. Knowledge (Daat) is the second, and it is seated in recognition of the truth. Understanding (Binah) is the third, and it results from humility to G-d. Having the wisdom to make the right decison about the knowledge of truth (The Torah) enables understanding with humility. Accepting correction by having humility increases understanding that further enables knowledge to support greater decision making with wisdom. For example, it is wise to observe Mitzvah, but knowing the truth of it results from having the humility to understand it and the reason for observing it. G-d will correct you, but you must be humble to benefit from it. Rabbi Schochet's (may he be blessed) explanations are the same as I read them in the Tanya. Reply

Binah is assurance of God from God...an actual earthly encounter! Yes, it still happens!

Da'at may be a biblical birthly inheritance, or just another birth, which formationally supplies one with the knowledgeable tools leading and prepariing one for...an earthly encounter of God.

Chomah is joy from our 'whenever ones actual life time encounter' occurs. Biblically speaking, this joy may be grounded, as said earlier, by some birth inheritance biblically assigned or more often grounded by ourselves formationally, from our 'knowledgeable' joy and sincereity, with Gods' trusted service assigned to us. Peace, there is, in knowing it's Gods' life assignment and not perhaps our own tearful life screwups. Again, an earthly encounter of God confirms Gods' assigned service and acknowledgment that one is on Gods' path! Reply

Wonderful to have listened Immanuel Schochet voice, I don't understand everything, but I caught up some phrases to form in my mind a sketch of the differences. I'm presently interested in capturing "daat" דאת meaning. Reply
