2 Charity collectors may collect [different] types of food and drink from [the residents of] courtyards on a festival as they do during the week. However, they should not make announcements [that they are collecting for charity] like they do during the week2 because it is possible to collect [this charity] without making announcements. Instead, they should make the collections in a private [and unobtrusive manner], placing the food in their bosoms, and dividing [it among the needy residents of] every neighborhood individually.
