The Nashema’s connection to the body explains why we feel uncomfortable walking through a cemetery perhaps stepping on a grave. Why a Kohen does not enter a cemetery and why we wash our hands after attending a burial. For us Jews anyway, we know something we don’t know and are respectful and careful. And why some folks have written creepy stories about cemeteries!!
We know we are going to die eventually but death doesn’t make any sense to us. Loved this Tanya portion. Thanks Rabbi.
