question re: today's Tanya class with Rabbi Gordon If I misunderstood, please correct me but I think I understand that there is nothing in the world other than Hashem and He is a King, and a King needs subjects who recognize Him and serve Him as a King and therefore, He removes Himself, creates a distance from Himself and us, and more specifically, the world as we know it appears to be an entity of its own without G-d forbid a Creator, because through this we seek Him out and acknowledge Him as King, thereby making for Him a "dira bitachtonim", a home in the lowest realms - but my question is : if G-d requires hiddenness so that He can be served properly as a King, than it seems our darkness is a requirement for this world, ch'v. With the coming of the Messianic Era, we are revealing more G-d in the world. Does G-d want to be hidden or revealed? I really find that to be the question that is confusing me at this time. I "know" the answer is revealed but the question is still there is the darkness needed ch"v? thank you. Reply
