Separate creation
Good question! Everything is part of the Divine. This entire Universe included. G-d is the Creator. The soul is a Divine "creation."
There was a time when there was no soul and then G-d created the soul - from himself - as he did all creation.
There is a lot more to say but for now.....

Separate Creation?
I don't understand what you mean by the soul being a separate creation, a creation?
Isn't the soul a part, the divine spiritual component within the human?
