Ana L. L. Sharma is a former professor at San Jose State University and current guest scientist at SNL. She received a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics and a M.Sc. in astrophysics. She is self-taught in oils and pastels, but watercolor, which she started using in 2011, has become her passion. Ana lives in New Mexico with her husband, children, and cats.
What is the key to the transformation, from darkness and constraint to light and freedom?
Artist’s Statement: This is a small watercolor painting that was actually inspired by a figure on one of the many menorahs in my collection. My goal was to capture, in both form and color, the rhapsody of the moment.
