Why no mention of the fact that Gad wanted to live there to be close to Moshe's final resting place (Vzos Habracha 33:21, see Rashi there) ? Reply

Rabbi Friedman, Thank you for letting me share my views in this Parsha of Matot, as I evolve with each and every one of your lectures.
In revealing and bringing the Moshiach in this now, I truly believe that we have to start to transmute these beautiful messages into the language that we have evolve until now, why to talk about guilt, punishment or judgments, it is clear that Moshe was focus in his mission, he was the leader and so everyone count for him, so he has to speak for the mass, Gad and Reuben on the other hand, heard their call, just as Joseph went to the land of Egypt ahead of all. So perhaps what Gad and Reuben did is the same, perhaps the time is here when we will see, what for they stay 'behind' and remain shepherds in that land. May we see with a new set of eyes their job.
