if the consult with medium/ or sorceres or wicthcraft, etc, is forbidden, then why our first King Saul went and consulted with a woman about to talk to our Prophet Samuel who was dead back then, why was that allowed for King Saul to do, and what was his reward, if any? Reply

May I suggest that getting involved with spirits that are not from HaShem is like getting involved with the mafia! It kills you: king Saul exercised freedom of choice, but as a result of pursuing the dead instead of HaShem, Saul was captured by the spirit of depression and killed himself. Let’s remember that as he started making choices away from HaShem’s instructions, HaShem regretted having chosen him, and removed his anointing from him. So by the time he chose to consult the dead, the spirit of HaShem was not with him anymore. Being devoid of HaShem’s presence is the worst loss that a zadik can experience! Reply

On a side note, how wonderful is this that a ben Noah seeks advice of a Rabbi, and the Rabbi in return tells him what to do as a ben Noah? If only the entire world was like this always! Reply

Re: Tomim Yes, there is always a concern that we're "getting what we deserve." But when you show real trust in G-d that whatever He is providing is for the good, with true joy and appreciation no matter how hidden that good is, that itself carries you to a higher place, so that now you are able to receive that good openly, as obvious good. That itself is teshuva. Reply

you said that we should not ask why this or that is happening to me; but if G-d forbid something 'bad' happens isn't one supposed to check his deeds and repent for any misdeeds? Reply
