Chapter 29:21 Accepting Gifts "It is a saintly virtue not to accept gifts". Is this specific to not relying on others for support or more broadly, not accepting gifts in general? Reply
RE: Accepting Gifts Yes, the way I understand the Halachah, it is encouraging one not to rely on others for their support or sustenance. It is also teaching that living in a mode of taking ia very unhealthy.
With this in mind we need to be aware that sometimes taking is actually a form of giving, putting certain experiences of taking into a different light.
