I went looking for your footsteps
Princess, mother
In the sands of yesterday--
But how would I find them?
Your fragile foot
So delicate, so kindly
Never pressed down
Upon the ground...
I searched for your monument
Among the gravestones--
But who strings praises
For an anonymous benefactor?
But somewhere
A flower blooms
Upon which once
Your smile shined;
Somewhere
Blossoms a tree
Which your eyes caressed
As you passed by;
And in many hearts gleam
Remnants of your glow
That will never be extinguished
In memory of Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson (1965), of blessed memory
This is one of the most beautiful poems i have ever read...it brings a tear to my eyes...and makes me think of my own darling Mother who i thank g-d for everyday!!!
