Negative Commandment 237 (Digest)
Participation in a Loan in which Interest is Charged

"You shall not impose interest upon him"Exodus 22:24.

We are forbidden from taking any active part in a loan that involves interest. We may not be the guarantor or witness for such a loan, nor may we act as the scribe who records it. (In addition to the prohibition against lending with interest, the borrower transgresses this prohibition too).

Daily Quote
Whoever possesses the following three traits is of the disciples of our father Abraham; and whoever possesses the opposite three traits is of the disciples of the wicked Balaam. The disciples of our father Abraham have a good eye, a meek spirit and a humble soul. The disciples of the wicked Balaam have an evil eye, a haughty spirit and a gross soul.
