Oil on Stretched Canvas
Artist’s Statement: When I found this beautiful tree along the banks of the Hudson River it made me think of the Hebrew word for tree, etz, which is composed of two letters, "ayin" and "tzaddik." "Tzaddik" means "the righteous one" and "ayin" means "eye." Though initially latent, a potential tzaddik is in every Jew. This potential can become active as the "eye" of the torah becomes part on one's consciousness.
