The Torah constantly says - to the place where G-d will appoint - always interpreted as Jerusalem.
Why doesn't it say Jerusalem, instead of the longer sentence, over and over again?

What is the source for the claim that the desire for idol worship was replaced for the desire of money?
Does the desire for money transgress the mitzvah to not worshiping idols?
