May you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year with an abundance of blessings, including giving tzedaka with an open hand. Reply
Hi, Baila, I love your shiurim. I get your point that we are responsible for our own choices. But I wonder about your opening, where you say that we don't pick our family...because in Midrash on Bereishes on the words Tzeva'am, the Midrash says bechol tzivyonim, with all their features. The Midrash enumerates how before a neshama comes down to the world, it picks all its features, family and circumstances...so yes, we do choose who we will be born to....the neshama knows and agrees. The challenge is that we forget and need to accept it. Reply
Thanks Rivky. You are right. I am referring to our conscious selves. You don't remember choosing who you will be born to. My ideas concern our real-life awareness and memory. Reply

I'm so glad it was helpful to you! And thank you for listening.
Wishing you a good, sweet year.
