I recall learning this in yeshiva (a hundred years ago. I also recall the Rambam on kasherut, in that shechting alone is possible insufficient as is also the treatment of the animal in that when an animal is scared, or traumatized etc it causes a negativity that can spiritually be passed on when eating the food of that animal.
Am I remembering correctly, or is this just the babbling of an old and confused man?
If my memory serves well, where is the source?
