After more than 75 entries and 2,000 votes in the Jewish website Chabad.org’s “The Most Likeable Sukkah” contest, Mendy Cohen has won the right to be featured on the site’s homepage with his photo of a pop-up version of the temporary holiday hut.

Cohen’s photo, which showed the sukkah beside a waterfall at the Ein Gedi National Reserve near Israel’s Dead Sea, won the most online votes through Chabad.org’s Facebook page.

Observances of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, which this year took place Sept. 22 to 29, include eating in a temporary hut covered by a permeable roof in reminder of the Jewish people’s desert journey from Egypt.
