Is there another connection between the Song of the Sea of Reeds and the Poem sung at the Well of Ar in that Hashem appreciated the gratitude for the miracles, but less pleased with celebrating the destruction of the Egyptians and people of Arnon? Could Moshe have asked them not to include his name in the song as something he had not taught?
Interesting thought! The Song of the Sea does indeed mention the destruction of the Egyptians and Moshe is named in it. G-d was upset at the angels for singing upon the destruction of the Egyptians, but not the Israelites who were celebrating being freed from slavery.
The Bechor Shor writes that Moshe did not sing because the Well had just caused him to sin by hitting the rock.
