Acharei-Kedoshim 5th portion Eved not Jewish My understanding is that we are not allowed to release this slave. Rabbi Gordon said we should free this slave. Reply

He gives an example of somebody's drowning and you know how to swim you should jump in and save him I think what he means is if you are a lifeguard and you know how to save because unfortunately lots of people who know how to swim are not capable of saving somebody who is drowning as the one who drowning pulls The Rescuer Down and in many cases where the Rescuers we're not trained lifeguards ended up drowned as well.
