In verse 28, it says "Israel shall dwell securely." Is this the origin for the prophecy in Jeremiah/Yirmiyahu 23:5-6?
There are some thematic connections between Devarim 33:27-29 and Yirmiyahu 23:5-6, though they are not directly linked passages. In Devarim, Moshe is blessing the tribes of Israel before his death. The passage emphasizes Israel dwelling in safety and security.
Similarly, Yirmiyahu contains promises of a righteous Branch (Moshiach) who will reign as king with safety and security for Israel under this king's reign
While both passages speak of G-d's protection, there are important distinctions. Devarim is set as Israel is about to enter the Promised Land, while Yirmiyahu is prophesying about a future Messianic king. Devarim focuses on physical protection and military victory, while Yirmiyahu emphasizes spiritual righteousness and salvation.
Both passages reinforce the theme of G-d as the ultimate source of security and salvation for His people.
