Food on Shabbat
Never fear, Shabbat meals are extremely tasty!
Cooking on Shabbat is prohibited, but Shabbat dinner can be warmed up before Shabbat begins and kept warm until it is time to eat. For Shabbat lunch, it is traditional to eat a dish that has been slow-cooked throughout the night in a crockpot or over a covered flame (known as cholent.) There are also many dishes that taste good cold, such as salads, fish, certain meats and many others. See www.chabad.org/93784 for recipes and www.chabad.org/95914 for more on the laws of food preparation on Shabbat.

If you are not allowed to prepare food
I am a person of positive Jewish DNA who was reared Christian. If you are not allowed to cook or warm food that was cooked prior to Sabbath, go out to eat,,,,,,,,What in the world do you serve your family????? Earlier prepared soggy sandwiches with cold soup? I'm mystified.
Please help me out here.
