The Jewish community in Siberia’s third-largest city had a lot to celebrate last week in the joint circumcisions of three local men and one child.

Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Binyomin Wagner, chief rabbi of Krasnoyarsk, Russia, and community chairman Yury Livshits arranged for the ceremonies by reaching out to the Israeli-based Brit Yosef Yitzchak organization, which dispatched Rabbis Shlomo Gelber and Aaron Rokach to perform the surgical procedures.

After undergoing the ritual circumcisions, all of the individuals received Jewish names. They were joined by friends and family at Krasnoyarsk’s synagogue for a mass celebration and festive meal.

The Jewish community of Krasnoyarsk is a member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia.
