A Constitutional authority and a Talmudic scholar will pair up for an upcoming presentation entitled “The Tea Party and the Talmud” for legal professionals in the New York City area.

Sponsored by the Institute for American and Talmudic Law – a Chabad-Lubavitch run program that offers Continuing Legal Education credits to attorneys with courses based on the nexus between American jurisprudence and Jewish law – the Dec. 16 event will take place at Chabad of the Plaza District in Midtown Manhattan.

At the symposium, George Washington University law professor Jeffrey Rosen and Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe will analyze the Jewish tradition of layered constitutional review and its implications to today’s political debates, from the ascendancy of the Tea Party to challenges to federal health care overhaul.
