Deuteronomy 17:16 "You shall never again return that way"
We are forbidden to return to Egypt in order to settle there.
After freeing us from slavery in Egypt, HaShem prohibited us from ever permanently living there again. However, it is permissible to return to Egypt for business or trade.
Was Anachronistic and meaningless, but maybe not in the present.
Why did Rambam go to Egypt? He did not like Spain under the Moors and did not want to go back when asked. This commandment was voided. Rambam settled there. There were many Jews that had come from Egypt in the last two hundred years. There ancestors probably went back there.
In the present who in their right mind would want to settle there?
