Last time it happened, President Reagan was just
elected, no one thought that the Soviet Union would fall, the
personal computer was science fiction, and the Internet was a
government research tool.
While much has changed since, on the morning of
April 8th, 2009 we will gather en masse to thank G-d for a phenomenon that
remains unchanged for the past 5,769 years—the sun rising daily in
the east and bathing us with its life-sustaining light.
Browse our Birkat Hachamah section and discover the origins of this
rare ceremony, how is it observed, and its relevant lessons. Enhance
the blessing by joining with others at
a local Birkat Hachamah event.
Wishing you and yours a kosher and happy Passover!
