The Divine Presence - Here to Stay: 10 Shevat, 5747 · February 9, 1987

One of the Talmudic signs that Moshiach is soon to arrive is: "Nations will contend with one another." The lack of peace and harmony in the world in recent times, is more than enough to provide this sign. Now it is time for man - and G-d - to turn all attention toward making this world a fully civilized place.

One of the Talmudic signs that Moshiach is soon to arrive is: "Nations will contend with one another." The lack of peace and harmony in the world in recent times, is more than enough to provide this sign. Now it is time for man - and G-d - to turn all attention toward making this world a fully civilized place.

To properly achieve this, every Jew must build a permanent Jewish presence in his domain. King David was not satisfied when the Holy Ark did not have a permanent home, and neither should we. Everyone must join the effort in building big, beautiful holy sanctuaries for G-d - houses of prayer and Torah study. These permanent sanctuaries create an atmosphere of holiness and inspiration, that provides the community with the stability to face all of life's challenges with the strength of Torah.
