Behind Every Great Jewish Man Is a Great Jewish Mother

Sarah, the first Jewish mother, is a shining example of the great power that every woman has over her family and our entire nation. It was Sarah who insisted that Isaac, not Ishmael, continue Abraham’s progeny. It was she who raised Isaac in his formative years, instilling within him the fortitude to stand up to all tests, and to become the second Patriarch of the Jewish People.

The profound influence a mother has on her young children’s futures cannot be overstated. When the Talmudic Sage Rabbi Yochanan ben Zakkai praised his prized student, Yehoshua ben Chananya, he exclaimed: “Happy is she who bore him!” - attributing Rabbi Yehoshua’s greatness to his mother. She had brought his cradle to the halls of the great Yeshivas for him to hear the sounds of Torah study. The impact of his mother’s actions during his infanthood was so profound, that she is credited as the source of his eventual greatness.

I've always wondered: this is the Case for Boys, who are great accordingly to their Mother, and for Girls as well or rather, in the Case of Girls, they are great accordingly to their Father? (I believe that a Child is the alchemical Product, so to put it, of the Conjuction between the own Mother and the own Father and all the related Family Forests, wherease I say here Family Forest because I've noticed that Family Tree is inaccurate, check yourself, as well as the Child is a unique Blend, that overpasses the Qualites of the Mother and of the Father, and being a Sparkle of the Light who is G-d, displays a Uniqueness that belongs to the Child himself/herself only, and that is a Sign that ...every Child, every human Being, is a Child of the one Parent that each one has, that is G-d; the Environment where one lives has an impact on him/her and yet, each one is like a Flower that should be allowed and sprout and blossom, with its unique Flavour and Colour, and who enhances that is great). Sara Rohr How appropriate that this video is posted immediately following the passing of Mrs. Sara Rohr, mother of such illustrious Jewish children. Reply
