Six Hundred Thousand Times Four, Equals One

Assembled here together, in a tangible demonstration of unity, is a diverse range of people: businessmen from every walk of life, and scholars who specialize in various realms of Torah study.

Every aspect of a Jew’s life comes through the conduit of Torah. Just as the Torah comprises 600,000 facets, so too does every one of the 600,000 souls of Israel relate especially to one particular facet of Torah, and his material blessings flow through that conduit. And just as Torah is a singular unity, so too, do all Jewish souls constitute one basic unity.

This unity especially becomes apparent during the month of Elul, when all Jews together, great and small alike, empower each other, take stock of their past year, and make good resolutions for the year ahead.
