An address to Jewish women: The daily study of Maimonides’ works is becoming increasingly widespread. The Mishneh Torah, his Magnum Opus that codifies Jewish Law, serves to guide all Jews through the intricacies of Jewish observance. It is not geared for scholars alone. It guides “small and great alike,” as they pursue their life tasks. Every Jew has the task of making his home a place in which G-d feels invited. In particular, a woman is uniquely able to set the tone that pervades her home and family. She then radiates this influence to her peers, who perceive and desire to emulate its tone, as set by her family’s Torah study and her own. |
