Event Date: 14 Adar 5740 - March 02, 1980

In modern times, G-d has blessed the Jewish People, and the majority of Jews live in countries where they are not persecuted or segregated. But with this comes a new challenge:

Parents want their children to enjoy the high standard of living that Western society offers them, and to be equally accepted and respected by their non-Jewish neighbors. So they may tell their children: “Do not be different – hide your Jewish identity.”

But the Jewish People has been here before: After the Purim miracle the Jews were admired and respected by the surrounding nations, because the non-Jews saw them proudly uphold their holy way of life, not only under persecution, but even under equality. They proved that the Jews are “the nation led by Mordechai” – by Mordechai’s teachings and spirit – “who does not bend nor bow.”
