The Beginning or the End?
Disc 193, Program 772
Event Date: 20 Sivan 5744 - June 20, 1984
As the school year ends and people take vacations, many want to leave all responsibility behind them. But when it comes to Torah study, there’s no such thing. Just like when we complete the communal reading of Torah, we immediately begin once again, the same is true of our own lives. We learn from Torah that we mustn’t delay until tomorrow! When we conclude the school year, we must begin a new period of study right away. Even though our formal studies will only begin weeks or months later, that is only to take a vacation from the pressures associated with studying in school. But regarding our personal studies every person understands that the most precious thing that we have is time. When we waste a single day, it is lost forever, because the following days come with their own purpose and mission. |
