Discovering Your Inner Jewish Child

“And all your children shall be disciples of G-d.” G-d blesses children with a unique nature for their journey on the path of G-dly discovery. Thus, there is much that adults can learn from them, in their own service of G-d.

A child, by nature, cannot be at rest. He is always exploring and is always inquisitive; he wants to understand the how and why of everything, and he wants to understand it right now.

The Baal Shem Tov teaches that every Jew must be “like a child”: Whatever he sees in this world, he must know that it has been shown to him by Divine Providence and it has a lesson to teach. Like a child, he must demand to know the divine plan and meaning in all of creation, refusing to rest until he finds what he seeks.
