Rabbi Yehudah Hanassi honored wealthy people. It was not their money which impressed him, but G-d’s confidence in them; G-d entrusts the finances of the Jewish People and of the entire world to those He is positive can use them in the best interest of the community. Business partners develop a special bond because they depend on and learn from one another. As a Jew, business carries an additional responsibility: To be an inspiration to all of one’s contacts in Torah, Mitzvos, goodness and charity. “G-d will not turn away a multitude:” When a financially strong group is formed, and together they resolve to support the Jewish People’s mission to make this world a sanctuary for G-d, G-d surely gives them the strength to carry out their decision, and He does not remain in debt; He will reward their efforts. |
